Seeking Former Residents for a Carrollton Video Project by Washington University Student

Becky Light, a Washington University graduate student is currently working on a film documentary project on the Carrollton area. If you are a former resident and interested in being interviewed by Ms. Light regarding your experiences with life in the area, please click on the CONTACT link on this site and I will send you her contact information. Her project will be completed by December 2nd and interviews will need to be conducted soon. Please take the time to consider lending your voice and share your experiences with Carrollton at any stage of Carrollton’s existence.

I am looking forward to her finished project as I am sure it will be a moving and informative visual guide through Carrollton’s history.

I am not a former resident of the Carrollton subdivision/neighborhood. But I am quite intrigued about it’s “once upon a time” story. I came upon the former community one night while geocaching. I asked other geocachers about the area and why it was vacant.

Then I learned about the buyout. I googled the buyout and read FAA documents to gain more insight. Just this weekend, I was out there again finishing up the remainder of the geocaches in the area. I drove through the area imagining life as it may have been.

I only have 3 more months left in STL, while on contract. I would be very interested in the documentary and to learn more about the area. I don’t think I will ever forget this area.

  Becky Light’s YouTube documentary short should be available online still. I am currently working on a book. Since I cannot devote full time to the project, it is taking far longer than I had hoped. However, it will be done. Thank you for your interest and comments!
